Evangeline finally got what she longed for—the cursed pendant off her neck and Caden in her arms—only it came at a steep price. An unknown poison now courses through her body, slowly morphing her into something no one but the Fates can foresee. She has her suspicions, though...and if she is right, it will spell certain ruin for her and Caden. But she won’t last long enough to realize that, if Viggo and Mortimer uncover the treasonous secrets she keeps from them– that Veronique, no longer entombed, is now in the torturous clutches of the witches and the People’s Sentinel, or that she is protecting a Sentinel within their very midst.Always the naive human caught in the vampires’ web of deceit, Evangeline is now weaving her own dangerous web so she can keep her friend alive, rescue Veronique, and stop a seemingly inevitable war from erupting. But can her honor handle the depths of duplicity to which she must descend, in order to be in league with the vampires?
Dark and gripping, riddled with angst, Allegiance will have readers anxiously turning pages to find out if Evangeline can survive, or if she’ll spiral into disaster.
CHARACTER INTERVIEW WITH AMELIE JENNINGS • Describe yourself to me.
People always told me I was pretty when I was human. After I transformed…well, enrolling in different high schools every year so I could taunt all the boys and take over the Cheerleading squad was like stealing from a baby. I think it's my hair - I have super springy curls jutting out all over my head in a wild mane. Or maybe it's my emerald eyes. Or it's just that I'm so darn bubbly and cute. And modest, clearly *winks* • How do you feel about your family, now that you’re an adult?
There's only my brother, Caden. He's my life. I never thought we'd be as close as we are but 700 years together changes things… I guess I consider Bishop and Fiona are my family too. And Evie! They're good people
• What do you want from life?
I want to live it! Human or vampire, I want to exist in a world where I can go shopping, read books, see movies, laugh with my friends. LIVE!
• What, in the outside world, is preventing you from getting it?
The reality that no matter what world I live in, I'm going to end up in the same Hell as Ratheus.
• If you were granted three wishes, what would you ask for?
Hmmm… only three? Well, first of all, I hope this stupid stuff in Julian and Evie's bodies vanishes so we can convert them. That would make Caden and I happy. Second, I don't want to live through another apocalyptic world war. The first one just plain sucked. Last? That's easy - I want a fully-functioning, fully-stocked Bloomingdales, completely unaffected by the outside world, if I don't get my second wish. It needs to be magically maintained with the latest styles and all in my size. J
• How do you fall in love? At first sight? Over a long period?
There's no such thing as 'over a long period' with my kind. Love slams into us like a freight train.
• When you walk into a room, what do you notice first? Second?
First? Second? What? *giggles* I can assure you I'll have scoped out an entire room within 2.7 seconds of stepping inside. Unless Julian's there, distracting me. *giggles*
• Did you turn out the way you expected? The way your parents predicted?
*Laughs* No one expected Amelie Jennings to turn into a vampire…
• What are you most afraid of?
Losing my brother and my friends. They're all I have. And Julian. God, I can't lose him. I can't survive another seven centuries without love.
Thanks so much for hosting me!
