For generations, the Frost family has run the Museum of Magical and Rare Artifacts, handing down guardianship from mother to daughter, always keeping their secrets to “family only.”
Gathered within museum’s walls is a collection dedicated to the Grimm fairy tales and to the rare items the family has acquired: Cinderella’s glass slipper, Snow White’s poisoned apple, the evil queen’s magic mirror, Sleeping Beauty’s enchanted spinning wheel…
Seventeen-year-old Bianca Frost wants none of it, dreaming instead of a career in art or photography or…well, anything except working in the family’s museum. She knows the items in the glass display cases are fakes because, of course, magic doesn’t really exist.

She’s about to find out how wrong she is.
Author Liz DeJesus has stopped by today with a character interview of Bianca for the First Frost Blog Tour :)
Tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Bianca Frost. I’m seventeen years old. I work part time at the Museum of Magical and Rare Artifacts with my parents and I recently discovered that I’m a witch. Yeah….that is still taking me some time to get used to. And here’s the kicker…my great-great-great grandmother was Snow White. As in THE Snow White. Yeah…still trying to get used to that too.
What is your most treasured possession?
A sock monkey puppet that my father and I made when I was seven years old.
When and where were you the happiest?
I don’t know if I can choose one exact moment but my parents took me to the aquarium once when I was little and I loved watching the stingrays. They were so odd, yet graceful. I dunno, it was just something that caused quite an impression on me at that moment in time. It was one of the few times I’ve ever felt at peace.
What is it that you most dislike?
Reality TV. God, don’t even get me started on Jersey Shore.
What is your greatest fear?
Losing a family member or a friend because of a mistake I made. Or anyone getting hurt because of me.
What is your greatest extravagance?
I spend most of my allowance on candy. I LOVE CANDY. Especially chocolate, gummy bears and sour patch kids. Although I have tried chocolate covered gummy bears and I could feel myself getting diabetes so I won’t be having those any time soon. Another thing I spend money on is music and DVD’s.
Which talent would you most like to have?
I wish I could sing. I can hold a tune just fine, but it’s not something anyone wants to hear…EVER. But Ming can sing, she has a beautiful voice. I can totally see her being a pop-star sometime in the future.
Where would you like to live?
I have no idea. I’m not really thinking that far ahead in the future. I would like to travel though. See the world. Definitely want to go to Ireland. That’s on the top of my list. Other places I want to visit are Italy, France, Spain, and Japan.
What do you most value in your friends?
Honesty. I couldn’t have someone in my life that could lie to me.
Which living person do you most admire?
That’s easy. My mom…because she’s awesome. I wish I could be kinder sometimes. She’s so gentle with everyone she meets, especially children and animals. Seriously, she even talks to the trees. Which is why she has a green thumb and can make anything bloom. Yet I have the black thumb of doom. I kill plants. I either forget to water them or water them too much.
On what occasions do you lie?
I try to avoid it at all costs. My tongue gets this weird ashy taste every time I even try to lie. And I also have this bad habit of blushing every time so it’s a dead giveaway, so I don’t even bother with that any more. Waste of time and not worth it.
Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
Probably ‘like’, ‘you know’ and ‘I dunno’.
Why should the readers be interested in your story?
It has everything: fairy tales, witches, magic, action, romance and smart ass remarks by yours truly.
Thank you for being with us today, Bianca.

Congrats on this new book blog tour, Liz! Wishing you your name on the bestseller lists! Tweeted and shared! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteBianca and I share the black thumb thing. And that our mothers are (were, in my case), extremely loving and gentle people. I wish Biana and her author much happiness and success.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon and Rhea! And Rhea, I know exactly what you mean. My mom can grow anything, anywhere and in my case I have a weed as tall as a tree in my front yard. Sigh. Someday I'll figure it out. :) Thanks for stopping by. :)
ReplyDeleteBianca hates reality TV? Now that's a character I can relate to! :P
