My thoughts:
I really enjoyed this inspirational read. The author, having a "disability" himself, very skillfully uplifts, encourages, and shows that life is what you make of it. This book was very well written and easy to read. I was super impressed with the author's persistence and dedication throughout the book. I would recommend this book to anyone who is struggling and needs an inspirational read :)

About the Author:
Author David Vince, a double-amputee who coached baseball in the college and high school ranks over three decades, tells his inspriational life story in his forthcoming memoir from Langmarc Publishing.

“When Life Throws You Curves, Keep Swinging” is a truly unique story of overcoming hardship, living life to the fullest and motivating young men and women to achieve their full potential in sports and in life. It includes an introduction from renowned former Florida State Head Football Coach Bobby Bowden.

As a baseball coach in the collegiate and high school ranks for 29 years, David earned 470 victories – despite the fact that he walks on two prosthetic legs and never played the game of baseball himself.

“I hope my story can encourage others who may be facing difficult or trying times in their lives so that they too can overcome adversity with proper attitude, faith and determination,” Vince said.

Vince is a former head coach of Campbellsville University in Kentucky, where he led the team to a Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship in 1987 – the first baseball conference championship in the history of the school.

He has had 10 district champion teams, eight district runner-up teams, two state final four teams, and one state runner-up team. He was a 10-time coach of the year recipient in various divisions.

He has also coached baseball in Holland, Spain, Czech Republic, Sweden, Australia, Puerto Rico, Italy, Curacao and Hawaii. David has worked as an associate scout for the Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians and Tampa Bay Rays.

The book as drawn praise from prominent sports personalities across the nation, including Major League Baseball Hall of Fame catcher Johnny Bench.

“David has a very inspirational book that made me so proud of his tenacity and love for baseball. I hope his story will light a fire for anyone with or without a disability to work hard an earn their dream,” Bench said.

Legendary former Notre Dame Head Football Coach Lou Holtz called the book “inspiring, informative and a great read.”

“Being a football coach I can certainly understand the difficulties an individual has in motivating their team to do the very best at all times,” Holtz said. “It is even more difficult when you are an above-knee double amputee.”

Vince speaks openly about his Christian faith and how it has guided him through his career on the field and helped him navigate life’s challenges, including the dramatic premature birth of his daughter Sierra, who was born with congenital birth defects similar to his own but has overcome her physical disabilties much like her father.

“I share some of the challenges I’ve faced throughout my life and how overcoming these hardships have strengthened my faith and made me the man I am today,” Vince said. “I hope my message inspires, motivates, encourages and uplifts all who read it – just as people before inspired me.”
