Rule The Darkness

Oh goodness!!! Where to start with this review... My mind is still processing the awesomeness that I have just finished. The author has done it yet again. Her dark poetic writing style is so addictive that you can't help but want to keep turning those pages! This fantastical world that the author has built is so well painted that you can't help but wanting book after book! Each one is so different from the other that I can't stop sitting here daydreaming about what is going to happen in the next... I LOVED some of the scenes and have completely fallen in love with Marcus. (Go Team Marcus!!) If you like paranormal, but like "different," this IS the action packed series for you ;)

What happened after the closing of Raven in the Grave

Ellie’s POV

Marcus still held my hand, tightly in his, as we peered across the dynasty. It all seemed so surreal. This was the beginning of everything. We had battled this far, and had earned the right to be where we were at this very second. If I ever heard a ticking clock before, I hadn’t. The clock was ticking now.

Many changes were about to happen, and I would soon be an evermore. After tonight, I would await my graduation. Marcus would ask my father for his permission to marry me, and somehow, a wedding would be planned, and my family would finally know who I really was, and that Marcus was really an immortal.

It was terrifying, but it was also everything I’d ever wanted. Everything I dreamed about.

But the one thing that bothered me, was the fact I hadn’t writhed or entered a deep, dormant sleep, hours ago, after I’d taken Marcus’s blood. Would becoming an evermore even be possible at this point?
If it hadn’t happened then, how would it happen now?

I turned to face him. He was perceptive, he knew my concerns and what I was thinking.

“The ceremony,” he gazed at me. “In this world, we’ve already been joined as one. I don’t want to wait,” he said. “There’s one thing I want to try with you tonight, to ease your worry, about whether or not you will become an evermore.”

“Marcus, I thought you wanted to wait until—”

He held out his wrist. “I do. But there are a few possible things we could experience now.” He grinned.
He was right. Having already been half evermore this entire time, and by taking of his blood earlier this evening, it was possible that I would be able to feel the rush that he’d felt, the many times he’d drank from my wrist. This would be the only way of knowing if I would ever be a full evermore. There was physical love-making, and then—then there was this.
