Time is running out and Paul’s original wish for death looms.
As his skin grays and hunger becomes uncontrollable, the world burns.
Heather and Paul have fallen for each other, but with life and death barricading them apart, and the potential cure disappearing into time, they have no hope.
Paul’s hunger is all-consuming. He has to walk into the flames, join Dominic, or eat everyone he loves.
Can he save anyone, if not himself?
*This is book #3 in the Barely Alive series. This series is sequential and should not be read out of order.*
** This is ADULT THEMED and for MATURE YA audiences. Language and content is - again - mature.**
How should I feel about the ending of this series?! Stunned? Overwhelmed? Wanting more? Well I feel all of those! I love how the author answered any questions that you may have had throughout this action packed series. This book was definitely wrapped up nicely :) There are several twists and turns that I NEVER saw coming and appreciate the creativity of each of them. And Dominic...oh how I despise him! He is definitely in my top 10 villains to hate in 2012! He's rude, crude, and downright hateful. But he needed to be to make this series what it was. Kudos to the author for creating such an intense character! I'm glad to be able to give my honest review for this series and can't wait to read more from the author :)
Character Interview with Dominic:
• How do you feel about your family, now that you’re an adult?
My mother is evil. I’m not even bad compared to her. Hell, I’m not a bad person at all. I’m into the things that most people are interested in, they just don’t have the guts to admit it. I wish I could’ve known my dad longer before Lou Gehrig’s had hit, but oh well. I wouldn’t be famous and powerful, if he hadn’t gotten sick. I guess sacrifice for the greater good, right? *chuckle*
• What do you want from life?
What do I want? A bunch of chicks to do whatever I want with, more money than I can spend, and of course every stupid person in this world under my control – I guess I better get spreading this virus, huh?
• What, in the outside world, is preventing you from getting it?
Paul. That kid couldn’t make me angrier. Do you know he had the audacity to get in my way after everything I did for him? He took Heather from me – and just after I found out she’s immune to my virus. Immune! Who would have thought? Well, I’ll get mine. Paul’s a kid. He’ll give in to his cravings and if he doesn’t, I’ll kill his brother. It’s simple, really.
• What, in yourself, is preventing you from getting it?
Nothing. I’m greater than most men you’ll meet. Since I created this virus, I think you could say I’ve got some god-like powers. But I’m a humble man, so I won’t go so far as to say those things myself, but you can say them.
• What must happen before you overcome this?
The little prick has to die. I’ll kill him, too. It’s only a matter of time.
Well, this was – annoying to say the least. But now Bonnie wants to jump in and she’s a bit cranky if she doesn’t get her way.
Bonnie: Thanks, Dominic. You’re such a gentleman. *eye roll* Before Dominic ruins our chances of ever coming back to this awesome blog, I would just like to say thank you for having us and to apologize for Dominic’s attitude and his language. He isn’t the nicest guy out there and quite frankly I’m appalled to have created him. But there you have it, he is who he is.
